Our home in the Oregon Cascades, provides us with peaceful days, and star-filled nights. We are grateful for fresh air, clean water, and enough space for our garden.

Leaving Caracol...was just as exciting as getting there. Did I mention the odd fact that after 45 miles on about the worst road you have ever seen, the LAST ten miles to Caracol is nicely paved...with a yellow stripe, even...That's something that isn't seen even on the biggest highways! Of course, going out was not quite as thrilling as going in...mostly downhill, for one thing...and we knew what to expect.

It was still a challenge to our little rental car, and we were relieved to get back in one piece! Here you see the pavement...and where it ends...also pictured is one of the many bridges that must be crossed to reach Caracol.
