Our home in the Oregon Cascades, provides us with peaceful days, and star-filled nights. We are grateful for fresh air, clean water, and enough space for our garden.

Warkentin House. We have shared stories of mutual family backgrounds, with our friend and neighbor, Gary Warkentin. He told us the story of how his great-grandfather brought "hard winter wheat" to Newton, Kansas. But we did not realize that his family is credited for "growing" the town of Newton, and their wheat seeds allowed the settlers to survive, and thrive, the harsh climate! If you click to enlarge, you can probably read the story for yourself in my first picture! The beautiful house is a museum, but it didn't open until 1:00 the next afternoon, and our schedule didn't allow time for us to stay! We had to be content with photographs of the outside!
