The Year at Peace Meal Garden

My Photo
Location: The Oregon Cascades, near PDX, United States

Our home in the Oregon Cascades, provides us with peaceful days, and star-filled nights. We are grateful for fresh air, clean water, and enough space for our garden.

May Flowers. They are nature's generous reward for those legendary Oregon rain showers!

We've got these early iris blossoms, and two kinds of rhododendrons, to brighten every day, even if the sun isn't shining!

This painting is called: "Hacia un Nuevo Almanecer" or "Toward the New Dawn". It was created by Beatriz Aurora.(2000)
This artist's work portrays the spirit of the oppressed peoples of Chiapas, Mexico...who have been inspired toward revolution, since 1994, by their leader, Subcomandante Insurgente Marcos....
I am posting this in honor of our departed young friend, Sam, along with this ancient prayer from the followers of the goddess, Isis (interpreted by Elizabeth Cunningham).
"Look how the sky's doors open to your beauty,
Look how the goddess awaits to receive you.
This is death. This is the life beyond life.
Look how the day is breaking in the east,
Look how the goddess awakens you.
Listen to us singing to you, there among the stars."
