Our home in the Oregon Cascades, provides us with peaceful days, and star-filled nights. We are grateful for fresh air, clean water, and enough space for our garden.

Listening to the Garifuna oral history, that is still being taught to many of the young people.

The main vehicle of Garifuna survival is their language. The Garifuna language is the only language of Black people spoken in the western hemisphere. Almost every Garifuna cultural activity has an accompanying song in their language: cassava processing, dorey paddling, weeping, and ancestral rituals, just to name a few. There is a Garifuna dictionalry and a translation of the Belizean National Anthem, as well as many church songs and prayers.
