Our home in the Oregon Cascades, provides us with peaceful days, and star-filled nights. We are grateful for fresh air, clean water, and enough space for our garden.

Cost of War was presented as part of our Veteran's Day exhibit at the library. It was brought to Estacada by The Rural Organizing Project of Oregon. You can find out more about them at and check on the latest figures for the cost of the war in Iraq at

This exhibit was established to educate the people of Oregon about the high cost of the war in Iraq, and to relate those figures directly to services that could be funded with those dollars, right here in our own community.

The prayer flags have been created to honor each and every soldier that has been killed in Iraq. Our library in Estacada was only able to display about 1/3 of the total exhibit! As of the publishing of this blog, the US soldiers killed number 2,859.
